Fellow PMP Sufferers take on Snowdon

On August 21st Steve and his friend David Mason will be climbing Snowdon to raise money for the Peritoneal Tumour Service at The Christie Hospital in Manchester.

Here is a brief insight into Steve's journey.

Alongside a fellow PMP sufferer known to the members of Christies PMP forum as 'Cavecrawler' and a group of fellow fundraisers, I will climb the Pyg track and (hopefully - dependant on the weather on the day) traverse the narrow scramble that is Crib Goch before reaching the summit and returning by way of the Miners path.

I was diagnosed with PMP or Pseudomyxoma Peritonea (to give it its full name) in April 2007. Since then I have had major surgery with heated chemotherapy,  had a cancerous tumour removed from my abdominal wall in another major operation and undergone 6 months of oral chemotherapy - but I'm still here!

I hope you will donate to this very worthy cause - Christies is one of only 2 centres in the UK who treat this particular form of Cancer, the other being Basingstoke Hospital which Cavecrawler is raising funds for. Any donation for any amount would be superb!
