Well I finally got up to 15 miles this week, along with my friend Nick. On Sunday morning, drove out to Edge Hill College and ran back. We intended on doing 13 miles, but we felt ok, so decided to do a couple extra. It took us 2hrs 30mins. Re-fueling was the key, we left drinks strategically along the route as we drove out, so we could grab a drink on the go, without carrying them or stopping at a shop. It was hard, but I'm so glad I've done it.
I, inevitably caught the virus off my boys and spent 3 days in bed with a fever and flu symptoms. I really could have done without it, as it put a stop to my training this week. I'm hoping to get back on the road again this weekend. My plan was to try and get 16 miles out on Saturday, but I may have to re-think after being on antibiotics and still feeling a bit weak.
This week, I was invited to The Virgin London Marathon Luncheon at Le Gavroche, Michel Roux Jr's restaurant in London. this was a media/sponsors lunch. I had an amazing meal and it was a good chance for me to chat with some of the other runners, including Michel Roux Jr. himself! Although I won't be able to keep up with him on the day, as he said he will be running it in around 3hrs!
