Council Get Behind POSH Awards
The Steve Prescott Foundation are elated to announce that the St Helens Council are graciously sponsoring the Young Sportsperson of the Year Award. Steve Prescott said “We are so pleased to have the St Helens Council sponsoring the Young Sportsperson of the Year Award. Not only are the Council taking ownership of this award they are fully backing the Solar King Pride of St Helens Awards. Along with the SPF & St Helens Star they share the same feeling of promoting Civic Pride with our community. St Helens is full of talented youngsters that do not get the recognition they deserve. The Awards have only been receiving nominations for the last two weeks and we have already received a number of high standard entries. We will be working alongside the Council to find many more stories about the tremendous achievements of youth sportspeople from St Helens!”
Leader of St.Helens Council Marie Rimmer said: "We have terrific youngsters in St.Helens who are great ambassadors for our borough. It is all too easy to criticise young people and often they go unrecognised for the sterling work they do in our communities and in the sporting arena. I am delighted to be able to back this magificent initiative which will highlight the many achievements our our young sports stars."
