Looking For Community Hero!
Helena Pledges Support For Pride of St Helens Awards
Housing association Helena Partnerships has joined the ranks of local businesses showing their support for the first Pride of St Helens Awards by signing up to sponsor a category.
The town’s largest social landlord is set to sponsor the Community Hero Award, which will celebrate the achievements of a person or group who has made a lasting difference to their local community.
Rob Young, Chief Executive at Helena, said: “Every day we witness the work of remarkable people who are changing lives in their local communities across St Helens.
“The Community Hero Award is a chance for people to share the stories of our town’s unsung heroes and we are very much looking forward to meeting these inspirational people at the awards ceremony later this year.”
The Pride of St Helens Awards, organised by the Steve Prescott Foundation in association with the St Helens Star, will champion the achievements of outstanding groups and individuals from across the town at a special ceremony in Langtree Park this October.
Rugby legend and local hero Steve Prescott said: “It is great to have Helena Partnerships involved with the Pride of St Helens Awards.
“We are looking for a person who has made the biggest difference to our community by improving a neighbourhood, leading a campaign or just making a difference to someone’s life and Helena is a perfect fit for the Community Hero Award.
“We look forward to working alongside Helena and the St Helens Star and hearing about incredible community stories.”
