21 Miles and Proud!
Created by Steve Prescott in 15/04/2010 21:18:20

Well, since my last blog, myself and Mike have managed a 21 miler. I was really please with my time of 3hrs 17mins, but since, we have both struggled with knee injuries. I had to take a couple of weeks off running to try and give it some rest.

This week, I have finally managed to get back on the road, but i have decided to keep my runs to daily 5 milers to prevent triggering it off again. It is a bit of a gamble because I would love to get another big one in before the big day, a week on Sunday, but thats the way it goes.

Its going to be a big weekend for me and my family, because I have been invited to Buckingham Palace for an Investiture to receive my MBE, on Friday 23 rd - 2 days before the Marathon. Hopefully, I will be returning with 2 medals if all goes to plan - I am still a little bit nervous about the Marathon, as I feel I have undertrained this time round.

On a more personal note, last week, my eldest son, Taylor signed a contract for Liverpool FC Academy. He is only 8 years old and they made it really special for him. Jamie Carragher was there to watch them sign and he presented him with a Liverpool shirt with Prescott on the back. It was a very proud day for me to see him rewarded for all his dedication and effort over the past couple of years. This is only the beginning for him, but at least he has taken the first step on the ladder. Well Done Tay!
