Fancy a summers day at the races in great company for a fantastic cause?
Lee Briers, Warrington Wolves legend and ambassador of the Steve Prescott Foundation (SPF) is hosting a race day in luxury surroundings very kindly sponsored by Maxilead Metals at Haydock Park Race Course, WA12 0HQ on Thursday 6th August in aid of the Spectrum Kilimanjaro Challenge.
The day starts at 12 noon with a bucks fizz reception in the Park Suite, a gourmet four course meal, pre-race tipster, jockey interviews and a balcony view of the racecourse. Stars of rugby league will be attending and MC for the day is Sky Sports Angela Powers.
Following on from his epic walk from Lands End to John o’Groats last year Lee has agreed to tackle another challenge in aid of the SPF. Lee will join a 32 strong team of climbers for the Spectrum Kilimanjaro Challenge in October 2015. The challenge is to complete the climb in just 5 days instead of the usual 9 days.
Peter Clay of Maxilead Metals commented “It's a great pleasure for Maxilead Metals to combine our passion of horseracing and rugby to help raise money for the Steve Prescott Foundation. We are really excited to be supporting Lee Briers on the Kilimajaro Challenge and no doubt the race day will turn out to be a huge success!"
Martin Blondel, General Manager of the SPF says ‘On behalf of The Steve Prescott Foundation we would like to thank Peter and his team from Maxilead Metals for their continued support of the SPF and Ambassador Lee Briers Spectrum Kilimanjaro Challenge. We have a great relationship with Haydock Park racecourse and they have put together a phenomenal package that will be top class hospitality.
