Comedian Johnny Vegas is going to renew rivalry with St Helens Rugby League legend Paul Sculthorpe MBE as they compete against each other in the Bartons Pickles Crown Green Bowling Celebrity Challenge on Sunday 21st June. The star studded event takes place at Ruskin Sports ground. Local celebrities which includes St Helens stars past and present and boxing legend Martin Murray. Entrance is Free for all spectators.

Breaking news is that the event is going to have a live TV presence with Johnny Vegas being interviewed by the popular Prime Time TV Show Sunday Brunch.

It is important that participants and spectators attend by no later than 11.45 preferably wearing Steve Prescott clothing. This is a fantastic chance to showcase the Steve Prescott Foundation on National TV and the wonderful support of St Helens people.

Music will be provided by Kinky Reggae who are going to provide Reggae vibes and create a carnival atmosphere throughout the day. There is plenty of fun for all the family with inflatables, Water Zorbs, a Bungee Run, Bouncy Castle and Inflatable Snowboarding, Reefs Reptiles Show, Disco Inferno Mini Disco and Face Painting as well as raffles and tombolas.

After the Bowling comp has finished, great up and coming St Helens Band The Futurites will perform in the Percival Suite.

Vegas and Scully first clashed at Ping Pong at Andy Reid's Cinema Bar with Scully just coming out best with a narrow 21-18 victory. Vegas promised he would extract revenge and has thrown down the gauntlet to the former Man of Steel by way of the noble art of crown green bowling. All profits from the event go to The Steve Prescott Foundation which supports the Christie, The Rugby League Benevolent Fund and the Oxford Intestinal Transplant Unit.

Martin Blondel general manager of the SPF said "The ping pong event was hilarious. Both Johnny & Scully took it serious but also managed to entertain the crowd. We are elated that we are once supported by Bartons Pickles who have been established in St Helens since 1905. The crown green challenge is going to be fantastic, we have a plethora of celebrities ready to take on the public and Vegas & Scully. I anticipate a huge demand for entries into the competition! There is going to be no finer place for all the family to celebrate Fathers Day than Ruskin Sports ground"

At this moment in time there are only 15 places to take part in the bowls.
