PGA Golfer Phil Archer runs GPW Recruitment St Helens 10k in aid of the SPF

Phil Archer, 43, Warrington based PGA European Tour and Challenge tour golfer took part in his second St Helens 10k at the weekend. Phil achieved his personal target and ran an improved time of 45’ 44’’.

Phil also raised over £500 for the Steve Prescott Foundation in the process.

Phil said. "I'm born and bred in Warrington, a keen football fan Man Utd) and a big fan of Warrington Wolves also. My father got me into golf at a very early age, and supported me avidly right up until I got my playing rights on the European tour and I went on to play for the last 17 years all around the world on some of the biggest stages (US Open and British Open, Seve trophy. My father unfortunately died of cancer 2 months before my first ever European event, and battled through cancer with amazing dignity. This is where I admire what Steve Prescott did so much and still does to this day in spirit. I feel any little thing I can do to help in any way I will."

Phil has recently ventured into teaching golf coaching at TOUR X GOLF Facility in Wigan and the player’s golf academy at Poulton Park Golf Club, Warrington.
