Background. The SPF was informed 3 weeks ago that Alan Shutt the landlord of the Station Inn at Ribblehead had heart problems but we were reassured that this would not affect our event. On Wednesday afternoon the SPF received a phone call to say the Station Inn had pulled out their support for the whole event.

Challenge. In true Steve Prescott style the new challenge was taken up. Within 48 hours, using all contacts possible,  the SPF has managed to come up with a solution that can accommodate all 260 people booked on to the event!  Sincere and special thanks go out to Hope Construction, Warburtons Bakery, Cooks of Rainford, Nick Mussell, CMH, Exelby Foods of Hull, Duncan Matthews, Ian Pitts of the Imperial, and Andy Reid  (World Beer Bus)Andy Reid and chef Rob Davies for offering their fantastic support at such short notice .

As a result we hope you will still join us as we are going to doubly celebrate the achievements of the Steve Prescott Foundation in our Million Pound Year.

Fund Raising. The new arrangements have incurred some extra costs so we hope you can secure sponsorship from friends and family as you tackle the arduos Yorkshire Three peaks challenge. For each individual who raises £120 there is a special edition SPF Hoody on offer. Every pound helps and is really appreciated.

Advice. We have been advised by several of our intrepid long distance walkers to buy Darn Tough socks to provide extra protection against blisters. These can be obtained from Urban Chameleon of St Helens: www.urbanchameleon.co.uk
