gymBUG support the St Helens 10k Run 2017

gymBUG fitness centre St Helens is fully behind this year's GPW Recruitment St Helens 10k Run in more ways than one. Firstly they are giving all runners a one day pass so they can check out all the fantastic facilities to keep up their fitness levels after they take part in the 10k.  www.thegymbug.com

In addition, gymBUG's Personal Trainer and St Helens Star fitness columnist Mark Hunt has also got together "Team Hunt" who has so far managed to raise over £1300 for GPW St Helens 10k run organisers The Steve Prescott Foundation (SPF).

"Team Hunt" comprises of gymBUG members who have never tackled the 10k before and St Helens Town Junior football team who are taking part in the 2k run in Victoria Park on Saturday 4th March the day before the main event.

The seventh St Helens 10k run sponsored by GPW Recruitment takes place on Sunday 5th March, with the 2000 runners setting off from the Totally Wicked Stadium at 0930.

Martin Blondel, General Manager of the SPF said, "We cannot thank gymBUG and the team enough for their phenomenal support of both runs and The Steve Prescott Foundation.  Mark Hunt has been top class and has been a great help to the SPF over the past 12 months. It is great to see so many new runners inspired by Steve Prescott MBE.  His legacy is of promoting health and well-being is astounding for the town.

The 10k has been incredible this year: we extended the capacity to 2100 two weeks ago and had to close entries two days later. We have been inundated with requests to enter since then but unfortunately there is no more room at the inn.”

“We are still a bit short on volunteers and would love the St Helen's community to put their hands up and give us a few hours of their time on the Sunday Morning. We have various roles for people to get involved and be part of this wonderful event."
