GPW Recruitment St Helens 10k Run 2019

On the 10th March the Totally Wicked Stadium will once again host the GPW Recruitment St Helens 10k Run.

This will be the 8th annual 10k which has come along way since its the early days of Birchley Street Car Park.

Organisers of the 10k are once again anticipating over 2000 athletes of all shapes,sizes and ability from competitive runners to walkers, the 10k has became the biggest fundraising event in the borough.

Linzi Prescott on behalf of The Steve Prescott Foundation said "The GPW Recruitment St Helens 10k Run is an important part of the Health & WellBeing calendar in the St Helens community. This is what Stephen would have wanted and would be so proud of its development. It is also fantastic that other causes and charities benefit from the work of the SPF and St Helens 10k Run committee. Lets hope the weather is kind to us this year."

The 10k run has the following targets.

RAISES AWARENESS FOR THE STEVE PRESCOTT FOUNDATION

Raising awareness and funds is absolutely crucial to the longevity of The Steve Prescott Foundation, raising awareness and funds gives our charities; RFL Benevolent Fund & The Christie the much needed support they need to continue. So far with the support of phenomenal supporters, the SPF have donated £1.5 Million, the St Helens 10k Run has contributed significantly to this total.

Do you want to accomplish something that many people dream about, but few people have ever accomplished?  Unless you make it a goal for yourself and work everyday to achieving it, why would you ever believe that you could accomplish it?  Unless you see yourself slowly making progress, your dreams and aspirations are nothing more than vague notions floating in your imagination.

Running regularly, can help prevent a number of long-term conditions just by moving your body’s large muscles repeatedly, when running. Whether you’re just starting or have always been active, make sure you take steps to stay injury free and able to perform to your best. Nutrition and hydration play key roles in this. It’s important to eat the correct foods to provide the fuel you need to exercise, as well as drinking enough water to keep you hydrated.
