We are thrilled to announce that the immensely popular Johnny Vegas Celebrity Bowls event will make its triumphant return on August 9th, 2025, at the Ruskin St. Helens in St Helens. This year’s event marks a significant milestone, celebrating the 10th anniversary of a beloved tradition.
In a testament to community spirit, two of St Helens' finest companies, PSD Vehicle Rental who are the Main Sponsors and Bartons Pickles, will be the associate sponsors for this prestigious occasion. PSD Vehicle Rental celebrates its 25th anniversary, while Barton’s Pickles proudly marks an incredible 120 years in business, we are honoured and privileged to be putting on this family fun day with them both.
The event will feature 16 celebrities who will compete fiercely for the coveted Lol Pennington Memorial Cup, named in honor of Johnny Vegas's father, who had a deep passion for Crown Green Bowling.
All proceeds from this event will support The Steve Prescott Foundation (SPF). The SPF expressed their gratitude, stating, “We would like to thank Johnny and Woolyback productions for their continued phenomenal support of the SPF. It’s our favorite day of the year.”
Anticipation is building for the PSD Vehicle Rentals JV Celebrity Bowls 2025, in association with Barton’s Pickles. A stellar lineup of celebrities from the worlds of sports, entertainment, and beyond, all passionate about the legacy of the late Steve Prescott MBE, is being curated. We extend our heartfelt thanks to PSD Vehicle Rental and Barton’s Pickles for their sponsorship, along with Glassbond NW Ltd and subsidiary Moulding Compounds Limited who, in partnership with Taylor Bowls Ltd, will provide all celebrities and their partners with a set of bowls.
The list of participating celebrities will be unveiled at the beginning of July, with bidding opportunities to play alongside them available on SPF's social media platforms starting July 9th.
This year’s festivities will include attractions for the entire family, featuring the iconic 99th Garrison Star Wars Characters, a variety of independent artisan stalls, Silcocks Funfair, and St Helens Classic Cars.
Entry to this exciting event is free, with a parking fee of just £5.
