The Steve Prescott Foundation is proud to announce that committee member Jim Housley has successfully completed the iconic Camino De Santiago trek, which began on May 7, 2025, and concluded today, June 10, 2025.
This remarkable journey spanned an official 483 miles over an incredible 33 days. However, due to the challenges of finding accommodation along the route, Jim ended up walking more than 500 miles, showcasing his determination and resilience. He traversed the picturesque path from Saint Jean Pied de Port to Santiago de Compostela, embodying the spirit of adventure and commitment to a cause.
Jim self-funded all expenses related to flights and accommodation for this challenge, and his efforts have resulted in raising a phenomenal £7,000, which will be equally divided among three deserving organizations:
- The Steve Prescott Foundation
- Sam's Diamonds Cancer Support
- Northwest Miners Heritage Association, of which Jim is a founding member.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported and donated to this noble cause. A special thank you goes to Jim’s wonderful family for their unwavering support throughout this journey.
We celebrate Jim Housley, not just as a legendary trekker but as a beacon of hope and inspiration for many.
