Taylor Prescott Gains Major Backing from Critical Business Solutions Ahead of London Marathon Return

Taylor Prescott is set to return to the iconic London Marathon next April, aiming to beat his impressive 2024 finish time of 3:17:37 as he once again takes on the world’s most famous race.

The Steve Prescott Foundation is delighted to announce that Taylor will receive huge backing from Critical Business Solutions (CBS), who have gone the extra mile by coming on board as Main Sponsor of his 2026 marathon challenge.

CBS is an industry-leading specialist in electrical installation, fire protection, life safety and security systems, operating within the critical infrastructure market. Their client-focused approach ensures exceptional service from initial design through to handover and ongoing support—values that align perfectly with the ethos of the Steve Prescott Foundation.

Martin Blondel, General Manager of The Steve Prescott Foundation, said:

“In trying times, it is exceptional and hugely appreciated to receive the phenomenal support of proud St Helens companies of the stature of Critical Business Solutions. We are extremely grateful to Andrew, Matt & Neil and their team for backing Taylor on this journey. Their support will play a significant role in helping him achieve his target time, while also benefitting our beneficiaries, The Christie and the Rugby League Benevolent Fund, making a real difference to those less fortunate than ourselves.”

Andrew Somerville, [Managing Director], Critical Business Solutions, added:

“We are incredibly proud to support Taylor Prescott and the Steve Prescott Foundation. Taylor’s determination, resilience and commitment to continuing his family’s legacy is truly inspiring. Supporting this challenge not only reflects our values as a business, but also allows us to contribute to causes that have a profound impact on so many lives.”

At just 24 years old, Taylor is no stranger to extreme endurance challenges. Since the loss of his father—rugby league legend and inspirational charity fundraiser Steve Prescott—Taylor has embarked on a remarkable series of physical feats in his honour.

Steve himself completed the London Marathon on three occasions, while Taylor’s grandfather, Eric Prescott, also conquered the famous course—making the challenge deeply rooted in Prescott family history.

Taylor has proudly taken on that baton. In 2021, he ran 100 miles in 48 hours, before going on to complete seven ultra-marathons in seven consecutive days, a challenge that later inspired the now-famous feats undertaken by Kevin Sinfield.

Preparing to take on London for the second time, Taylor admits the challenge is both daunting and exhilarating.

“I’m no stranger to marathons, having completed seven ultras in seven days, the Manchester Marathon in 2021 and the London Marathon in 2024—but London is on another level,” Taylor said.

“It’s such a prestigious race and has an attraction like no other. My dad and my grandad both ran the London Marathon, so to once again follow in their footsteps will be incredibly special. I was happy with 3:17:37 last time, but I genuinely feel I can go quicker this year.”

The Steve Prescott Foundation currently has three Associate Business Sponsorship packages remaining.
