The St Helens Summer Beer Festival takes over Mill Street Barracks on Friday 28 July (6pm – 11pm) and Saturday 29 July (2pm – 11pm).
There will be ales, ciders, food, and live entertainment – and for the first time a selection of gins and bottles of prosecco
Adam Alderson (37) from Preston-under-Scar in Wensleydale, North Yorkshire, had only just embarked on what should have been the most exciting chapter of his life so far. He was living in Australia with his girlfriend Laura, and whilst working they were making the most of the hospitality and weather.
On August 7th 2017 Ben Moorhouse (34) and Gaynor Thompson (36) will take on their final chapter and Extreme Challenge Walk on the beautiful island of Rhodes in Greece.
In 2015 Ben and Gaynor walked from Mandraki to Prasonisi during August in just 3 days. (70 miles) They were the first people to do the walk during the hottest time of summer and made history by been the first people to do the challenge walk and succeed.
A PUB landlord is thanking his punters after they helped to raise more than £1,000 for the Steve Prescott Foundation by paying a few pence more for their pints.
Andy Evans, owner of the Cricketers Arms on Peters Street, raised £1,021.60 in under a year by adding 5p to the cost of the White Rat beer, popular with his regulars.
